2HB Incorporated is seeking a Software Engineer to support its government customer in Chantilly, VA.
The US Government (USG) applies technical resources for data engineering leveraging enterprise capabilities, where possible, to collect, ingest, format, and enrich open source data. The USG requires engineers to develop and maintain data exploitation platforms that support and enhance the data collection process.
Please note that travel is anticipated for this contract, upon USG approval for the following categories:
- Local travel/POV will be on an as needed basis, within the local place of performance.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) travel is anticipated within the Continental United States (CONUS).
- TDY travel is anticipated outside the Continental United States (OCONUS).
The ideal candidate will have experience in Data Engineering, Development, and O&M. Expected duties will include moving existing data round, via daily data requests. Data Engineer will also be expected to develop new pipelines and improve processes.
Skills and Experiences needed:
- Working in a Unix operating system, to include usage of the Unix terminal
- Developing and maintaining data transformation scripts in Python
- Writing code in at least one of the following: Java, Go, C#, Scala
- Ingesting, transforming, modeling, and storing data in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Modeling structures, semi-structured, and unstructured data
- Working with SQL and NoSQL databases to store and retrieve data (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Elasticsearch, MongoDB)
- Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Databases, data warehousing, data lakes, and lakehouses
- Modern data flow management and orchestration tools (e.g., Flyte, Airflow, Dagster, or NiFi)
- Containerization technologies, including Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, or similar
- Ingesting, transforming, modeling, and storing data in the Sponsor's cloud environments
- Working with AI/ML methodologies and techniques
