Systems Engineer

2HB Incorporated is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer in order to support its government customer at Annapolis Junction, MD. The TKO program is seeking a Technical Writer to provide support of the Data Transformation Solutions (DTS) TTO. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation. They will create and edit technical documentation for all of the project’s users including: installation, configuration and how-to documentation. Produce implementation guides and end-user guides for capabilities; data definition, and data flow documentation, and format technical publications from consultations with technical personnel and other available resources.

Required:
  • Proven work experience in technical writing of software documentation.
  • Research and thorough assessments of the subject area
  • Adapt and improve processes and workflows
  • Ability to deliver high-quality documentation with focus and attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable.
  • Excellent writing and grammar skills in English.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Applies systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement. Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts. Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives. Responsibility for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288. 

 

A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus six (6) years of systems engineering experience.

OR

 A High School Diploma or GED plus ten (10) years of general systems engineering experience (any process area).

OR

 A Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus four (4) years of systems engineering experience.

OR

A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus four (4) years of systems engineering experience.

*Note 1 – Examples of Qualified engineering fields include: Aeronautics, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems, and Engineering Management.

*Note 2 - Examples of related disciplines include: Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, and Physics. This is a full-time position, and requires a TS/SCI/Full Scope Polygraph Clearance.
