Part-Time Principal System Engineer

This is a part-time position requiring 1410 hours of support per year, and requires a TS/SCI/Full Scope Polygraph Clearance.

2HB Incorporated is seeking a Part-Time Principal System Engineer in order to support its government customer in Annapolis Junction, MD. Work is performed at the customer site. You will support and work closely with a Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) supporting a customer PMO assigned to customer’s program.  You will perform a wide variety of systems engineering activities, producing system engineering documentation that fully supports program standup and execution, including, as needed, required acquisition milestone decision technical documentation.
 
Responsibilities include: Working with multiple organizations to develop formal validated mission and capability needs, and defining the requirements that meet these needs. Developing, documenting and/or analyzing operational and system architectures in standard frameworks (e.g., DoDAF, MoDAF, UAF).  Drafting capability needs (CN), creating thread views, and mission use cases; defining mission outcomes and measures of success; evaluating capabilities threads and providing assessment responses and feedback. Working with LSE and the customer organizations on the development of short and long term acquisition strategies.

Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline and at least 20 years of systems engineering experience.  A Master’s or PhD Degree may be substituted for two years of experience.  Note: a High School Diploma or GED plus 24 years of systems engineering experience would also be acceptable.
  • A broad experience in systems engineering disciplines, with a focus on architectures, system of system integration and architecture, mission use case and thread analysis and engineering.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Individual Capabilities/Experience Desired:
  • Experience in developing/documenting architectures using standard architectural frameworks (e.g., UAF, DoDAF) and should have familiarity with the UAF architecture framework.
  • Desired to be proficient with the Cameo architecture tool and its usage.
  • A demonstrated ability to work constructively and successfully with diverse stakeholders to resolve mission and technical issues.
